My name is Marlene.
My passion for handmade jewellery has been with me for over 20 years. I have always been fascinated by the possibility of visualising memories and emotions in small details.
The birth of my daughter in 2017 was the first time I felt the desire to capture a very special moment forever. When my son was born in 2020, it became a matter close to my heart: to preserve the memory of this unique breastfeeding time in a personal piece of jewellery.
I founded Makidy breast milk jewellery in January 2021.
Since then, I have been lovingly creating personalised mementos in my studio in Berlin - carefully handcrafted and with great attention to every single detail.
Each piece of jewellery is created individually and carries its very own story.
I have been living and working in Berlin for many years, but I originally come from Seville in the south of Spain.
This combination of Mediterranean warmth, emotional closeness and precise craftsmanship characterises my style to this day and flows into every one of my works.
As a mother of two children and with my own long breastfeeding experience, I know how emotional and meaningful these memories are.
That's why I make every piece of jewellery with great care, patience and respect - personally, individually and with great attention to detail.
Because there is a unique story behind every order.
The name Makidy is made up of the initials of my children and myself.
It stands for the deep connection between mother and child - and for all the little moments that are far too precious to be forgotten.
It is precisely these memories that I want to preserve with every single piece of jewellery 🤍
